Over 28 year old wholesale landscaping supply company looking for a LEAD REGIONAL CDL Class A Driver based in Lake City, FL. Driver would stay out overnight on average 1-2 nights per week and be HOME ON WEEKENDS.

Starting Pay: $25-$30 per hour starting pay range

Schedule: M-F

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for supervising delivery drivers; providing safe, timely, and correct deliveries to customers; coordinating and maintaining maintenance of equipment, and maintaining company compliance with all FHSMV regulations.

 

Essential Functions:

· Perform duties as a professional delivery driver

· Routinely inspect equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

· Assist Manager in recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training employees.

· Verify drivers are complying with FMCSA Regulations

· Maintain equipment service records and annual inspections. All equipment must maintain “in-service” status according to DOT regulations.

· Conduct self in a professional manner in both conduct and appearance.

· Operate the delivery vehicle in a safe and cautious manner to maintain a clean driving record.

· Ensure proper and timely delivery.

· Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. Check in routinely with driving team members to inquire about issues with equipment.

· Schedule and conduct quarterly safety meetings. Ensure proper training topics and record keeping for meetings is met.

· Conduct annual reviews / evaluations with driving team.

Education/Experience Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Prior work experience in a delivery and customer service setting is preferred.

 

License and/or Certification requirements: Class A CDL

Other Qualifications: Good driving record and ability to maintain it.

 

Physical Requirements:

· This position may include long hours spent standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, reaching, and stretching.

· Occasional lifting and/or moving up to fifty (50) pounds.

· The position may also require climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

· Repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows may be required in this position to operate small, motorized equipment.

 

Working Conditions:

· This position is normally performed outside and in a vehicle that may expose employee to wet and/or humid conditions. Office time will also be required.

· This position may require a flexible schedule and periodic overtime, as needed.
